Statement By Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty On Senate Passage Of Gov. Crist's Health Plan
Wednesday, April 16, 2008
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – "I applaud the Florida Senate for today taking a positive step toward providing access to affordable health insurance to the more than 3 million Floridians who currently do not have coverage.
"The unanimous approval (39-0) that this bill received is a clear indication of its importance to all Florida consumers. Because of the leadership of Gov. Crist and Sen. Peaden, Florida residents will no longer have to struggle to provide health care to their families.
"I urge the Florida House to act swiftly and pass this responsible legislation so that Floridians may begin to take advantage of the Cover Florida program."
